A new event for the ladies is coming to Strathearn Historical Park. On May 22nd the park will be filled with grownups having all the fun of a childhood dress up party – while including great food, adult beverages, live music, activities and a silent auction!
This one-of-a-kind ladies day helps raise funds for the Simi Valley Historical Society’s educational programs, and is the brain child of Simi Valley Community Supporter, Debbie Thomas.”
In the past, this type of event has been limited to members of the Historical Society, but this year’s event is open to all ladies age 21+, with advance ticket purchase, although tickets are limited.
On this Sunday afternoon, from 3 – 6 PM, guests will enjoy the shade of a luxurious tent-shaded grass area while participating in a variety of activities including choosing the 2016 Princess with the best tiara. Attendees can make their own tiara at a craft center or wear one they already have. Martini and wine glasses can also be decorated as a keepsake.
A “Passport” game will send those interested to various historical buildings to listen to the walls talk while earning a prize. Local band Alive & Pickin’ will provide continuous music in the gazebo for listening or singing along, plus a photo booth offers more laughs and memories.
Admission includes fancy appetizers, snacks and desserts from Simi’s popular Lost Canyons Golf Club Restaurant. A choice of girly martinis & wine will be available for purchase.
