4th Annual Chowder Tasting & Competition

On Sunday, July 22, the CI Maritime Museum presents the 4th annual Chowderfest. The EVENT OF THE SUMMER in Channel Islands Harbor featuring local restaurants competing for the honor of “Best Seafood Chowder”. Guests enjoy chowder tastings as well as desserts and side dishes from restaurants, wine tastings, and Firestone Walker Brewery provided fine craft beer. Kelly’s Lot & Friends will be performing non-stop blues music.
Proceeds from Chowderfest enable the museum to continue as a cultural gem in our beach community, displaying a world-class collection of maritime art, dynamic temporary exhibits, and providing education programs for area students.
Chowderfest is an annual collaborative fundraiser hosted by the Channel Islands Maritime Museum, IOBG (International Order of the Blue Gavel), and local Yacht Clubs. Local restaurants donate exceptional flavors to the Chowder Cook-off (clam, corn, manhattan, potato, veggie, and more!) and support the Channel Islands Maritime Museum, a non-profit which celebrates Five Centuries of Art that Sails and gives back to the community nearly every day of the year.
The $25 ticket price ($30 at the event, 11 years and under are free) includes chowder and wine tastings, a variety of side dishes, four hours of live blues music, and free Museum admission. The museum welcomes the public and community to attend. Proceeds from this fundraiser benefit the Channel Islands Maritime Museum.
